Redwood Australian ShepherdsRedwood Australian Shepherds is focused on breeding quality working Australian Shepherds. Proven lines and pretty dogs that exemplify the ASCA standard drive our breeding decisions. We focus on training and trialing in agility, obedience, and rally. Someday we look forward to adding herding and MVA to that mix!
The Miniature Australian Shepherd, North American Shepherd, North American Miniature Australian Shepherd, and/or Toy Australian Shepherd breeds are not recognized as a variety of Australian Shepherd by ASCA. The club considers such dogs to be a distinct and separate breed and will not accept them into its registry. Australian Shepherd Club of America

OUR DOGS
The dogs at Redwood are loved like our kids! We show them to the best of our abilities, but at the end of the day, they are awesome hiking dogs, and most of the time, fantastic cuddle dogs. Each dog brings a different flavor to the pack, and we hope to enhance all of their great qualities, and train through the rest.
LITTERS
Occasionally we make some really cute Aussie puppies. We breed when we are ready for a puppy, or an extraordinary group of people are wanting a cross for performance prospects. All puppies come with health guarantees (hip/elbow dysplasia, cataracts, epilepsy), have their eyes checked by a veterinary ophthalmologist between 6-7 weeks, receive Early Neurological Stimulation between 3-16 days, and are raised in an environment to introduce them to as many different types of stimuli as possible. We prioritize getting the puppies safe experiences with people, children, and other pets from as early of an age as possible. Litters are well documented on the blog, in photos, in videos, and via live webcams. Tails and front dewclaws are left on all puppies. Click on the links for anymore questions.
While we are a lover of all dogs and breeds and the great All-American mixes, we only breed Aussies and we follow ASCA's statement on the Mini Aussies.
We have no litters in the works right now.
We work hard at matching puppies to their owners, as sending puppies home with a new family is a lot like letting our kids move on to college - after giving them the best raising and preparation for life as we can, we want to see them mature into the best dogs they can be. We take great care in choosing crosses, dam's physical health before, during, and after pregnancy, and the first 8-12 weeks of life of the litter.

PAST DOGS
These are past cherished family members that have either crossed over the rainbow bridge or have been placed in another home. Placing an older dog is a heart-wrenching decision as we so love our crew, but sometimes a dog may have a better fit with another owner. All of these dogs (and token cat) have a huge place in our hearts.
