Beamer came to me after a couple years of admiring his dad and how Spin worked stock. Spin has successfully competed at the 2008 and 2009 ASCA Nationals. Beamer's mother Gen has always impressed me with her quiet working abilities, structure, and biddable nature. Beamer is more than I could have asked for. He has a strong drive to play and will work equally for food or toys. He's biddable, learns extremely fast, and enthusiastic. He is quiet and thoughtful the few times he has been exposed to stock.
In the agility ring, Beam has become a solid team player. He is fast and mostly consistent. We continue to work his trial focus skills, but for a home-schooled dog, I cannot complain! His greatest strengths are being able to handle technical courses, and for the most part, not being eliminated :) He is just 4 gambles away from his ADCH, and once we complete that, we'll focus more on AKC! Overall, I am super pleased with how Beamer has matured. He has a fantastic temperament. At home, a bit of aussie reserve is coming through until I say okay, and then he is super wiggly and energetic to meet new people. At trials, he thinks he is the life of the party and is happy to see everyone. His chest has filled out, and he is a nice moderate boy. He loves to hang out at home, has a very natural off switch, and if you go anywhere near the car, he is demanding to get in to go do fun things. I couldn't be happier with where he is at and am looking forward to more great things coming from Jim Beam! |
