LUCERO

Westwind's Sundance Kid OTDsd, STDc, DNA-VP x Vaquero's Hope n' ta Spin STDscd DNA-VP

When Pam said she was breeding Beamer's older sister, I was very interested in this cross. I liked the addition of the Westwind lines. When I picked out Lucero, he was the sweet and cuddly puppy of the litter. He turned into a drivey and feisty dog! Lucero has been a huge learning curve on so many levels. He is quick thinking and exceptionally fast, yet soft. He has the best temperament with other dogs. He is reserved with everyone but his inner circle, choosing to ignore most people than to acknowledge their presence. He prefers to be outside than in the house, where he has a job of watching the property. He has some of the most effortless movement I have ever seen on an aussie, and I would clone that if I could. And best of all, he finds more joy in life than most people I know.

PERFORMANCE ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Lucero and I worked and worked, but never found our niche in the agility or flyball world. A lovely dog with a ton of heart and speed to kill, the pieces were not all there for us to gel.

An opportunity came to place him in a very active home in Portland, and after much deliberation and many meetings, Lu now lives with his "2nd mom" Michelle and big sister Bindi. He is cherished for all the wonderful things he brings to their household, gets to go on lots of trail runs every week, and I am so grateful for my new friendship with Michelle. Lucero taught me more than I could have imagined, and sending him away was a very difficult decision to make. Read about it here.
