Yankee is exactly what I was searching for when I went on my hunt for a driven agility prospect from working aussies. Yankee's grandfather Tag won the 1999 ASCA National Finals on cattle while her mother took 6th place in the 2004 ASCA National Cattle Finals.
I wanted a well-built dog that would put up with up with the demands of agility and farm life, while giving me a leg up into the world of herding. This little dog is definitely my heart dog. She loves the sport as much as she loves a trail ride. Nothing though could top her love of sheep, if only I could keep up! While we always hoped to pursue stock, life got in the way, and we focused on her performance career. At the end of the day, you can see her snuggling up on my bed or trying to get any unsuspecting victim to play a game of fetch with her ball. She is gentle around my 3 year old nephew, yet is always ready to go to work or train. |
